Who is Eliana Martt?
To be who we are, there is a lifetime of events, insignificant and monumental, that shape us into who we become. That’s how, today, I am a fulfilled woman who achieved what I always dreamed of, living abroad and practicing my profession with mastery.
I was born and raised in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I lived with my parents as the youngest of 7 siblings. My parents lived from their crops, but unfortunately, they faced many challenges with drought and poor soils. As I grew up, I knew that if I wanted a better future, I needed to look for it away from home. And at age 13, I embarked on a journey of survival and self-discovery. Here’s where my story begins.
TAKING THE WORLD BY THE HAIR
I believe the universe chose my profession for me. It started with me taking care of my hair to later have my first job in a beauty salon called Ideal when I was 17. It wasn't an "ideal" situation at the moment, but little by little, I fell more and more in love with the world of beauty and hair. I find it fascinating how you can help someone transform, not just externally but internally, how I can help to bring happiness to every one of my clients. My favorite part is creating that safe place, the moment they sit on the chair, and I am allowed to touch their hair, there's trust and a bond where they can talk to me about what's going on in their lives, risk-free. When I started my journey as a hairdresser, I started developing my love for this industry. I started searching for techniques, learning, and taking courses locally and internationally. That's how throughout time, I became passionate about that this external and inner transformation that hair provides, and I constantly study to improve my techniques to offer more and more smiles to my clients.
LET YOUR HAIR DOWN
I believe that a haircut will not just magically change someone’s life. It has to come from within, but a makeover is that little push to get a confidence boost. You need to embrace your hair, as you need to embrace life. Your hair has to match your routine, don’t fight against its texture; improve it.And that’s why I am here, to introduce you to a better you. To help you love your hair, no matter its length, color, texture and style. The moment you put your trust in me and my capabilities and you see the final result with a smile on your face, I know my job is done.
A CONSTANT MAKEOVER
Working with beauty and people has brought me a wonderful learning about self-awareness and a new outlook on life. Growing up in a poor area in Brazil, I only dreamed of having the basics and living comfortably. Now, I look back to that life, and I pinch myself – this is more than what I ever dreamed! As a dreamer, I know my journey will not stay unchanged. Before, I never thought I would have my own beauty salon, but life with its twists and turns had this in line.
Then, out of the necessity of moving abroad and looking for jobs without speaking the language, either I had to wait or do it myself. So, I took charge. Through every client, I also learn something new. And that’s what keeps me motivated, my ability to make people feel good about themselves. That’s why my advice for anyone looking for their path is to find something that will cause a positive transformation in the world and align your expectations. Develop your work around your values and beliefs.
